Women leaders frequently face unique challenges while navigating male-dominated fields and workplaces, and they may not have anyone to turn to for support. Mentorship, sponsorship, and allyship are vital for women who are looking to advance their careers and break the glass ceiling.
This event—the second in the 2024 Women’s Leadership Speaker Series—focused on defining mentorship, sponsorship, and allyship in higher education leadership. Webinar participants had the opportunity to hear from a panel of higher education experts as they discussed lessons learned through their careers and shared compelling personal examples of mentorship, resources to help hone professional skills, and inspiring best practices. The conversation explored indicators of allyship, highlighted the meaningful and reciprocal relationship between a mentor and mentee, and delved into the recurring benefits of sponsorship.
