Description

Objective:

The course objective is to enable Field Training Officers or Field Trainers to deliver the Office of Field Operations Pre/Post Academy Training Program to CBP Officers and CBP Agriculture Specialists who successfully completed basic training.

Learning Outcomes:

  • deliver and manage a structured and monitored Office of Field Operations Pre-Academy and Post-Academy Training Program
  • employ instructional skills when delivering instructor led training, provide coaching and feedback during learning activities, monitor on-the-job training (OJT) activities while providing coaching and feedback, and facilitate graded practical exercises with more emphasis placed on actual job performance
  • utilize CBP’s learning management system (ACADIS) to monitor, record and track pre and post academy progress
  • adhere to standard grading rubrics within a pass/fail structure that mirror’s those in the Basic Academy
  • adhere to the curriculum as written to include all instructor-led modules, on-the-job training modules and working periods of designated length
  • understand the importance of following the prescribed material to ensure the legal defensibility of the curriculum is not compromised
