Description

Objective:

The course objective is to introduce basic network architecture, including hardware concepts, wireless networking and network operating systems. Topics include topologies, Ethernet cabling, network interface cards (NICs), protocols, and client/server system basics. Students will work with cabling, routers, switches, impact and crimping tools, and patch panels.

  • List the characteristics of the typical network cables
  • List the speed of different Ethernet implementations
  • Build a network including PC and other devices
