Description

Objective:

The course objective is to prepare students to write reports of security incidents and to write formal reports of security-related topics or research.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Write grammatically and with correct usage in accordance with The Elements of Style
  • Write strong sentences and paragraphs
  • Evaluate the accuracy and effectiveness of a written statement from an investigative interview
  • Write an incident report based on the results of an investigation, using the fundamentals of effective writing
  • Revise writing by using revision techniques
  • Create an annotated bibliography for their research paper using The Chicago Manual of Style
  • Create an annotated bibliography for the Final Research Paper using The Chicago Manual of Style
  • Evaluate and incorporate research and analysis into a formal academic research paper, following the guidelines of The Chicago Manual of Style
  • Write an academic research paper/ report on a complex, security related topic using Chicago style
