Description

Objective:

To increase the emergency provider's skill level to work in a team setting for a safe and effective response to terrorist events which involve hazardous material.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify and apply basic security tactics
  • Identify equipment likely to be useful in a response to terrorist events
  • Select appropriate personnel protective equipment
  • Identify appropriate product control methods
  • Plan components for decontamination of victims and for equipment contamination during a terrorist incident that involves hazardous materials
  • Estimate risk and determine appropriate response precautions
  • Identify decontaminations
