Description

Objective:

To provide an introduction to accounting functions, including how to prepare and maintain journals, general ledgers, income statements, equity statements and balance sheets. Students learn how to post ledgers with an emphasis on payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

General Topics:

  • Analyzing transactions, double-entry framework, adjusting entries, financial statements and the closing process, accounting for cash, payroll accounting (employee earnings and deductions, employer taxes and reports), accounts payable, and accounts receivable
