Description

Objective:

To build a professional vocabulary based on prefixes, suffixes, word roots and combining forms. The integumentary, urinary, endocrine, nervous and special senses systems are explored.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Accurately recognize and pronounce medical terms
  • Relate medical terms to the structure and function of the human body
  • Gain awareness of certain common pathological conditions in the systems studied
  • Spell and define medical terms
  • Analyze and understand medicals terms through knowledge of prefixes, suffixes, and root words
  • Correctly recognize and use medical terms in a variety of situations, such as case studies, medical charts, laboratory reports, professional journals, and communicating with medical personnel and clients
