Description

Objective:

The course objective is to introduce the principles of anatomy and physiology, leading to an understanding of the cell, tissues, and the skeletal system. Inclusive is the study of normal and abnormal body processes and pathophysiology. Diagnostic studies are explored.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Define the chemical processes which maintain life, cellular function and structure, typical cellular cycle, tissue types, structure, location, and function
  • Distinguish between skeletal muscle, smooth muscle and cardiac muscle in terms of structure, location and control
  • Discuss the degenerative disease states of bones and other types of diseases associated with the skeletal system
  • Describe the structure, type and function of the skeletal system
