Description

Objective:

The course objective is to allow the student to develop knowledge and skills for completing insurance forms for the inpatient setting. The students will identify third-party payer insurances and apply correct coding and compliance rules. The student will become proficient in completing the UB 04 claim form.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Apply correct coding systems
  • Develop a medical coder's ability to process hospital claims
  • Abstract information from the records in order to complete a variety of medical insurance forms, standard format
