Description

Objective:

The course objective is to familiarize divers with the knowledge, skills, techniques and procedures necessary to safely plan, organize and conduct dry suit dives.

Learning Outcomes:

  • explain and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, procedures and techniques used when diving in dry suits
  • explain the exposure suit options available to divers and how to choose one appropriate for the diving environment
  • explain and contrast the various types of dry suits and their features
  • explain the factors to consider when choosing important dry suit accessories including undergarments, gloves, hoods, and boots
  • explain and demonstrate the recommended procedures for proper dry suit care, maintenance, and storage
  • explain and demonstrate the correct procedures for proper weighting and buoyancy control when diving in a dry suit
  • explain the causes, prevention, and recommended techniques for handling excess gas in the legs of a dry suit and a flooded dry suit
