Description

Objective:

To give students both knowledge and skills in real estate law.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify and describe such different types of land ownership as fee simple, life estate, cooperative and condominium, joint tenancy, tenancy-in-common, and tenancy by the entireties
  • Draft a landlord tenant complaint and a form lease
  • Describe such land use control mechanisms as zoning, easements, restrictive covenants, and reciprocal negative easements
  • Draft an exclusive sales brokerage agreement, a buyer's financial information form, a buyer's estimated settlement costs form, and a seller's estimated proceeds form
  • Draft an agreement of sale, a mortgage, a mortgage note, a deed, and a settlement sheet
