Description

Objective:

The course objective is to the use of the Physician's Desk Reference (PDR), as well as the concepts and procedures necessary to obtain an ECG (Electrocardiogram) tracing. Students practice basic interpretation and prepare to take the ECG technician certification examination through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).

Learning Outcomes:

  • Prepare and maintain examination areas for ECG processing
  • Perform selected tests that assist with diagnosis and treatment and use medical terminology
  • Appropriately research certain medications in the PDR
  • Prepare patients for procedures
