Description

Objective:

The course objective is to teach the foundational writing skills that will enable students to be successful in a college-level English Composition course. Students will learn how to construct sound sentences, craft effective paragraphs, and write cohesive compositions, developing their writing skills through all stages of the writing process.

Learning Outcomes:

Apply standard English grammar and syntax to write clear and correct sentences.
Apply sound structures to construct effective paragraphs in the informative and descriptive modes.
Plan an effective argumentative composition with an introduction and thesis statement, body paragraphs built around three main ideas, and a conclusion.
