Description

Objective:

The course objective is to guide students in developing mastery of the basic principles and methods of statistics. Students learn how to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret data using graphical and numerical techniques. They also learn how to apply probability concepts, hypothesis testing, and correlation and regression analysis to real-life situations. By the end of this course, students are able to use statistics to make informed decisions and communicate findings effectively.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand and identify key principles of statistical reasoning and statistical methods.
  • Apply concepts of probability and risk in real-life scenarios.
  • Determine correlation and causation and distinguish between them in context.
  • Interpret data, calculate variation, and recognize patterns in distributions.
  • Apply concepts of hypothesis testing and utilize t-tests, z-tests, and ANOVA in real-world situations.
