There is still time to register for two ACE-led webinars that will examine central aspects of building more equitable campuses. The Equity-Minded Approach to Faculty Tenure and Promotion webinar will reexamine hiring and tenure policies with an equity-minded lens. In the Building Capacity for Shared Equity Leadership webinar, an expert panel will reflect on the soon-to-be-published report, “Capacity Building for Shared Equity Leadership: Approaches and Considerations for the Work."
The Equity-Minded Approach to Faculty Tenure and Promotion webinar, which will be held Jan. 24 at 1:00 p.m. ET, will feature an expert-led discussion on opportunities to bring more equity to faculty policies. Panelists in this EAB-sponsored webinar will explore how to best focus efforts on creating equitable conditions to retain diversity.
Caleb Campbell, managing director of partner development at EAB, will moderate the webinar. The webinar's panelists will include:
- David Attis, managing director, research, EAB
- Tamara Bertrand Jones, associate professor, higher education, educational leadership and policy studies, Florida State University
- KerryAnn O'Meara, professor of higher education and distinguished scholar teacher, University of Maryland
An expert panel will discuss key findings and offer reflections on the forthcoming report on capacity building for Shared Equity Leadership at the Shared Equity Leadership webinar, to be held Jan. 31 at 1:00 p.m. ET. The panelists will also detail challenges they faced when working to build capacity on their campuses, and participants will learn new strategies that support leaders' ability to work collectively. Additionally, a recently published post on ACE's Higher Education Today blog previews the report.
Hironao Okahana, ACE's assistant vice president of research, will host the webinar, and Elizabeth Holcombe, a senior postdoctoral research associate at the Pullias Center for Higher Education, will moderate the discussion. The webinar's panelists will include:
- Timothy Eatman, dean, honors living-learning community and professor of urban education, Rutgers University-Newark
- Patricia Herrera, associate professor of theatre and co-chair of the Institutional Coordinating Council, University of Richmond
- Katrina Wade-Golden, associate vice provost and deputy chief diversity officer, University of Michigan
