Monica Pemberton is a highly accomplished professional serving as the Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the American Council on Education (ACE). In her role, she holds responsibility for defining ACE's strategic direction in technology utilization and ensuring the secure operation of all systems and applications.
Monica brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Before joining ACE in 2023, she served as the Chief Technology Officer at the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), where she led the organization's technology strategy and spearheaded vital initiatives. Monica has also held significant technology consulting roles in the federal government sector, contributing her skills to the General Services Administration (GSA) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
Monica Pemberton earned her BS and MS from the University of Maryland Global Campus. Committed to ongoing professional development, she obtained a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace certificate from the University of Southern Florida. Monica actively engages with various boards, including the Association of Women Technology Champions (AWTC) and Blacks in Technology (BIT) Virginia. Additionally, she serves on the Technology Professionals Advisory Council of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
