Zenitta Anderson is the senior vice president and chief administrative officer at ACE, leading its operations and administration division. With over 20 years of experience in business operations, Anderson possesses exceptional foresight and a proven ability to transform goals into practical strategies. She excels at guiding teams in effective organizational growth, successful change implementation, efficient internal processes, and impactful project execution.
Anderson’s career at the American Council on Education (ACE) began in 1992, when she initially served as a staff assistant for its GED Testing Service. Throughout her impressive 28-year tenure at ACE, she has held various managerial and cabinet-level positions. In her current role, Anderson is responsible for leading the strategic direction of the information technology services department and the People Team. Her oversight also includes management of tenant relationships and building operations through a property management company, as part of ACE’s ownership of One Dupont Circle.
Notably, Anderson played a crucial role in the development of ACE’s telepresence studio in 2013 and the establishment of the organization’s in-house multimedia production infrastructure in 2017. She also spearheaded the creation of the ACE Training Room, located within the National Center for Higher Education’s conference center. Under her exemplary leadership, ACE has become a comprehensive provider of virtual collaboration and multimedia production technology, offering services such as webinars, webcasts, podcasts, videography, and still photography to both internal staff and external stakeholders.
Anderson’s exceptional performance and leadership capabilities have led to several committee appointments on topics such as ACE’s strategic vision, strategic planning for leadership programs, space planning, and benefits. She has also served as one of ACE’s retirement plan fiduciaries, overseeing the organization’s retirement investment plan for over six years. Recently, she was nominated to serve on the board of the Association Mutual Health Insurance Company.
Anderson holds a master of technology management and a master of business administration from the University of Maryland University College (UMUC). She earned a bachelor of science in criminal justice with a specialization in crime scene investigation from Kaplan University and an associate of science with a specialization in mortuary science from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service.
In addition to her formal education, Anderson acquired a chief information officer graduate-level certificate from UMUC and the U.S. General Services Administration’s CIO University. She also holds the Project Management Professional® credential, a widely recognized certification for project managers that is bestowed by the Project Management Institute. In November 2017, Anderson completed courses in the University of California, Berkeley’s executive leadership program, during which she collaborated with professionals from over 15 countries.
Her ability to approach sensitive and confidential situations objectively has proven invaluable to ACE and the committees she serves on, where she offers her perspective on strategic and operational matters.
