ACE is hosting and livestreaming a convening Feb. 14 for the release of Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education: A Status Report and its accompanying microsite. The event will be held at the National Press Club in Washington, DC.
ACE’s report, which will be publicly released that day, shares and examines more than 200 indicators and provides a comprehensive overview of the state of higher education, including how access, trajectories, and outcomes for students differ by race and ethnicity.
The convening will explore key findings from the report. It will also promote dialogue and action among scholars, policymakers, institutional leaders, practitioners, and the media on how they can help improve outcomes for students of color in higher education.
In addition to the report release, the convening will feature two moderated panel discussions with ACE President Ted Mitchell and Vice President for Research Lorelle Espinosa as well as speakers from the Urban Institute, American Association of State Colleges and Universities, and scholars from the University of Maryland, the University of Southern California (USC) Race and Equity Center, and the University of California, Los Angeles.
Participants can attend in person at the National Press Club, or virtually via livestream at 9 a.m. EST on Feb. 14. Click here to register.
The event is hosted in collaboration with the USC Race and Equity Center and the Urban Institute, and is presented with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education project is made possible through the support of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
