Description

Objective:

Given the Handbook for Measuring Employee Performance (OPM Handbook), classroom instruction, classroom activities, and participant guide, develop an employee performance plans for their program following the Office of Personnel Management eight-step process.
This course is designed to provide managers the competencies necessary to successfully create an employee performance plan that meets the Effective Performance Elements and Standards Checklist.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Turn organizational goals into department accomplishments
  • Determine individual contributions using department accomplishments
  • Convert contributions into performance elements and indicate element type
  • Select a general and specific measures for a performance element
  • Write a SMART standard for each performance element for a three level appraisal system
  • Ensure standards are measurable by determining feedback and/or monitoring methods
  • Evaluate employee performance plan for quality
  • Rate Performance plans
  • Demonstrate the ability to apply the 8 Step OPM method of writing Employee Performance Plans
