ACE is offering a cluster of free special events focused on global innovations in international higher education March 22-24 as companion sessions to ACE2021—ACE’s online annual meeting. Please join us to hear from faculty, administrators, and international higher education leaders, including highlights from ACE's recently completed US-Japan and US-Venezuela-Ecuador COIL Initiatives.
Events will kick off beginning at 8 a.m. EDT March 22 with a Virtual Poster Showcase, featuring presentations on the latest trends and research on virtual exchange/collaborative online international learning (VE/COIL). Then, at 11 a.m., attend “Overcoming the Digital Divide: The U.S.-Venezuela-Ecuador COIL Initiative” to learn about a unique trilateral initiative that brought together higher education institutions from the U.S., Venezuela, and Ecuador to build sustainable collaborations.
On March 23, gain insights from senior officials from the U.S., Japan, and Norway on how governments work to enhance, renew, and evolve higher education and mobility at “Global Higher Education Alliances: Maintaining Resiliency in Times of Crisis” at 8 a.m.
On March 24, learn about a pioneering U.S.-Japan VE/COIL framework that is “Building Virtual Bridges in U.S.-Japan Higher Education” at 8:30 a.m. Finally, end the day with an opportunity to engage and have direct discussions with presenters of the Virtual Poster Showcase starting at 7:30 p.m.
These events are provided with the generous support of the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo; Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT); the Norwegian Agency of International Cooperation and Quality Enhancement in Higher Education (Diku); and the U.S. Embassies of Latin America.
